On 2nd May 2021, EAAFP Secretariat and K-eco extended their MoU to continue a strengthened cooperation in promoting environmental conservation and training future conservation leaders in the Flyway. Five years have passed since the first MoU was signed in 2016 between the EAAFP Secretariat and K-eco.
The MoU signing ceremony was held separately due to COVID19.
Mr. Doug Watkins, the Chief Executive of EAAFP Secretariat showed his appreciation for K-eco for their support to EAAFP in training future leaders in the Republic of Korea. Mr. Chan Ho Park, the Executive Director of K-eco Management & Planning Division, expressed K-eco’s pleasure to contribute to the conservation of migratory waterbirds and their habitats by raising future environmentalist leaders and dispatching the leaders to active environmental organizations such as EAAFP.
Ever since the MOU was signed, K-eco regularly recommended and dispatched future leaders who have high interest in environmental field and supported EAAFP Secretariat with human resources. (video)
The objective of the MoU is to continue a strengthened cooperation in promoting environmental conservation and training future conservation leaders. The extended MOU is valid for three (3) years from May 2021 to May 2024 and will be renewable upon mutual agreement. As the MOU is extended for continuous cooperation, the connectivity of the projects will be enhanced with strengthened communication and strong support between the parties.
The EAAFP Secretariat welcomes the extension of the MOU. We look forward to continuing our conservation efforts jointly with K-eco.
