On 5 August 2020, the EAAFP Foundation attended the 4th Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Matching Day Meet Up Session at DGB Finance Center.
The event was hosted by Korea National Council on Social Welfare and organized by CSR Center and Chosun Ilbo Better Future with sponsorship from DGB Finance Group. 17 non-profit organizations including the EAAFP Foundation were selected to present their proposal to Korean corporates looking for a CSR partner.
Ms. Yoon Lee, External Relations Manager at EAAFP made a presentation on the values of the EAAFP Foundation as a potential CSR partner. The proposal was titled ‘Flyway Network – Connecting People and Waterbirds’. It aims to raise awareness among the local community and corporates doing business near the EAAF Flyway Network Sites on the importance of biodiversity through engaging them in various CSR activities.
“In the Republic of Korea, there are 16 globally recognized important habitats for migratory waterbirds. We call it Flyway Network Sites. Many corporates are running their operations near these Sites,” Ms. Lee said, drawing attention from the representatives of participating corporates.
“Our CSR project can benefit both the corporates and the people in the local community,” Lee added.
After the presentation, a mentoring session followed with a mentor matched with each selected organization. Hankook Tire Foundation, Amorepacific, GS Caltex, DGB Social Contribution Foundation, Hyundai participated as mentors. The EAAFP Foundation and a few other organizations were invited to a mentor group lead by Hankook Tire Foundation, to discuss the direction of the proposal.
Based on the comments and consulting, the EAAFP Foundation will develop a full proposal by 24 August and participate in the final CSR matching day which is planned on September 15, 2020.
