1st World Wildlife Day on 3rd March 2014 in the Republic of Korea

EAAFP Participated to Celebration of 1st World Wildlife Day on 3rd March 2014 in the Republic of Korea:

On 3rd of March, EAAFP participated in an event hosted by  Ministry of Environment Korea to mark the first World Wildlife Day. The date was proclaimed by the United Nations to celebrate the importance of invaluable wild fauna and flora and to raise awareness of the benefits people derive from wildlife.

This international celebration is important in raising public awareness of wild plants and animals including migratory waterbirds and their habitat, supporting the aims of the EAAFP.  Another international event – World Migratory Bird Day – is coming on 10-11 May to mark the importance of migratory waterbirds and wetlands all over the world. We encourage all governments, NGOs, private sector and schools to celebrate this international event and help the effort to conserve priceless migratory waterbirds and their vulnerable habitats, by holding public events, training workshops, lectures or field tours about these incredible journeys.
